Since 2022, the Digital Arts Residency in cooperation with Pro Helvetia has supported individuals and collectives working in the field of digital art practices – spanning from early research support to the finalisation of large-scale projects. The residency is awarded to Swiss or Switzerland-based artists and researchers working at the intersection of media arts, design, sound, and moving image.
Responding to different circumstances and needs, the Digital Arts Residency has supported artists across a number of fields within digital art practice. In its inaugural year 2022, alongside two Swiss artists, the residency extended support to two further artist collectives at special risk following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The following two editions each supported two residency positions, while the most recent edition in 2026 focused on one resident with a production grant to develop new work.
