The journal publication resulting from the PhD Research Workshop 2025 – a cooperation between the Digital Aesthetics Research Center (DARC), Aarhus University, and transmediale – is now available online.
Under the title Everything Is A Matter of Distance , this year’s Research Workshop and accompanying journal issue explore how space is produced, shaped, and manipulated in contemporary techno-culture.
The publication features contributions by Megan Phipps, Nico Daleman, Katya Sivers, Christoffer Koch Andersen, Daria Iuriichuk, and Sami P. Itävuori, and is edited by Magda Tyżlik-Carver and Pablo Velasco.
Taking place during the transmediale festival dates and responding to the annual festival theme, the PhD Research Workshop provides a forum for emerging researchers to enter into speculation, critique, exchange, and dialogue about their research topic, as well as fostering networks, knowledge exchange, and widening dissemination.
The annual workshop was initiated in 2012 as a cooperation between the Digital Aesthetics Research Center (DARC) at Aarhus University, transmediale, and varying partner organisations.
