Hacks, flash mobs, online petitions: never have there been so many opportunities for free expression and social participation as there are today. The digital citizen is self-aware and enlightened; aware of the consequences of his actions. Media activists join forces worldwide and communally create platforms for themes and people that to date had no support. We present a number of projects and people working with the activist potential of the Internet and other technologies – thereby developing radically new policy approaches in terms of self-determination, participation and integration.

Hacks, Flashmobs, Online-Petitionen: noch nie gab es so viele Möglichkeiten der freien Meinungsäußerung und sozialen Mitbestimmung wie heute. Der digitale Bürger ist selbstbewusst und aufgeklärt und weiß um die Konsequenzen seiner Handlungen. Medienaktivisten weltweit schließen sich in Gemeinschaften zusammen und schaffen Plattformen für Themen und Menschen, die bis dato keine Lobby hatten. Wir stellen einige Projekte und Menschen vor, die mit dem aktivistischen Potenzial des Internets und anderer Technologien arbeiten – und damit radikal neue politische Ansätze in punkto Selbstbestimmung, Teilhabe und Integration entwickeln.
