The Vienna-based net culture group 'Public Netbase' has been carrying out art and culture projects addressing the complex transformation of society in the information age. An info box provides some examples of a novel cultural practice that takes part in the social production of meaning through artistic interventions in public space. These projects express a struggle for a public space, and the consequent political conflicts that have always been a part of 'Public Netbase's' reality.
