How to Make a Refugee

Taking as its point of departure the short film by Phil Collins called how to make a refugee (1999), a document of an encounter between refugees from Kosovo and international media in 1999, Thomas Keenan’s talk of the same title explores the confusing relation between agency and representation that occurs when people find themselves needing to make claims for, and offer evidence of, their very humanity.

A conversation between Thomas Keenan and Anna Engelhardt will follow this lecture.

Due to health reasons Lého Galibert-Laîné unfortunately cannot participate in the conversation.
