Tianzhuo Chen lives and works in Beijing. Chen works between the artistic disciplines of installation, performance, video, painting, and photography, to create participatory events such as underground parties, theater performances, or precisely constructed ritual sites. Assembling elements and symbols from religions, cosmologies, queer, pop and rave subcultures, he attempts to built dreamworlds and meditative spaces for the audience to inhabit and to attain transcendent states.
