- transmediale 2026 residents sharing session
The practice sharing session brings together the upcoming transmediale residents Ahreum Lee, Martyna Marciniak, and Amanda E. Metzger, who will begin their residencies in summer 2026. The residency programme is realised in collaboration with two international and one local partner: Pro Helvetia, ARKO, and the Vilém Flusser Archive at the Berlin University of the Arts.
Responding to a thematic call that addresses escalating political and ecological urgencies alongside deepening societal divides, the selected artists explore how techno-mediated gestures and alternative forms of knowledge can help reorient our collective trajectories. Working through relational approaches to digital art and research, their practices critically examine the social dimensions and (mis)uses of technology, and what these might offer in relation to the present moment and near futures.
In this session, the artists will share insights into their current work, research interests, and the questions shaping their upcoming residencies in Berlin.
As a core part of transmediale’s activities, the residency programme focuses on supporting sustainable practices and long-term relationships with artists, emphasising a process-oriented approach rather than output-driven presentations. By bringing together diverse disciplines and practices, the programme aims to expand transmediale’s local and international networks and the festival’s community. The programme offers participants a two-month hybrid residency: four weeks of remote work followed by one month on-site at transmediale’s studio space in Berlin in June 2026.
