An exhibition, an online symposium and two evening events with in-person audiences – transmediale concludes the for refusal festival edition. The collaborative project Vorspiel 2022 accompanies the programme.
transmediale begins the year 2022 with a conclusion: the year-long festival edition for refusal ends in February. Since endings should be recognised and celebrated, transmediale will present a wide variety of events over the coming week.
The exhibition abandon all hope ye who enter here opens its doors to at Akademie der Künste on 26 January.
The online symposium This is Not Anarchy, This is Chaos will be live-streamed from Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Unfortunately, the transmediale team had to cancel the originally planned in-person event, but replaced it with a fully live-streamed programme free of charge on transmediale.de.
The festival also invites an in-person audience to attend two evening events at Haus der Kulturen der Welt: a Film Night, and the Closing Keynote by philosopher Byung-Chul Han.
Vorspiel 2022, the traditional collaborative project between transmediale, CTM and over 65 participating Berlin Project Spaces, kicks off the festival's programming.
This is Not Anarchy, This is Chaos
28 & 29 January, 2022
Livestream on transmediale.de
What possibilities can refusal open up? What limitations does it impose? Reflecting on the frictions that emerge between practices of refusal, This is Not Anarchy, This is Chaos is a two-day binge-watch of talks, lectures, and films featuring artists, theorists, and activists whose work refuses the seduction and desire of technological promises and logic.
Since the originally planned format with an in-person audience was cancelled, the symposium will be shown exclusively as a live-stream on transmediale.de. More information about the symposium and the participants can be found on the transmediale website .
