transmediale’s exhibition Rendering Refusal is now accessible through a digital visiting programme, Proxy Visits. The festival’s new website and year-long platform, the Almanac for Refusal, is now live, and monthly updates will follow throughout the year. The festival shares the first preview of its upcoming programme.
Taking place at Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien and Betonhalle, Silent Green, this year’s exhibition, Rendering Refusal, explores what can emerge from saying no. Due to current lockdown restrictions, physical access to the exhibition is currently closed. In light of this, transmediale has created a digital visiting programme to explore the exhibition, inspired and informed by Proxy Protest. Visitors can connect via video call with a proxy host at the venue and experience the exhibition with them. For further information and booking, please have a look here .
In addition, the festival is producing extensive documentation of the exhibition, including a guided tour in English and German and a podcast between the curators. This documentation will be available on the festival website shortly. Rendering Refusal runs until 28 March.
Undefined Panorama 3.1 by Yang Ah Ham will be exhibited as a site-specific installation at Kuppelhalle in Silent Green in July.
