AMOQA (Athens Museum of Queer Arts) is a collective operating since 2015. Since its creation, it has served as a hybrid meeting point for networks of researchers, as well as for activists and artists working on issues of politics, remembrance, gender and identity. It hosts performance festivals, screenings of documentaries on gender politics as well as experimental queer films, technology workshops and lectures on gender-related topics. It additionally highlights various transdisciplinary and hybrid forms of arts and crafts that produce and promote queer feminist culture, both internationally and locally. AMOQA attempts to make visible political practices and tools that were, historically speaking, more or less discredited as underground, deemed irrelevant, or left unacknowledged.
