Vorspiel is back! Following a year of pause and rethinking together with the Vorspiel community, preparations are underway for the 2026 edition.

Taking place from January 16th to February 1st, alongside the transmediale and CTM festivals, Vorspiel aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Berlin's independent project spaces and artist initiatives active in music and sound, visual, and media arts, as well as connected hybrid fields, through a programme of city-wide events.

The Vorspiel 2026 call for registration is now open. It is aimed at independent project spaces, platforms, initiatives, curators and artists based in Berlin that wish to propose an event or activity to take place within Vorspiel. Installations, performances, presentations, concerts and other formats dedicated to digital art & culture and experimental music and sound are central to the programme.

Production and organisation costs associated with Vorspiel events must be covered by the participating organisers. transmediale and CTM will coordinate communication and promotion of the programme, including a dedicated Vorspiel website, print materials, and social media.
