transmediale 2024 is coming! Taking place from 31 January to 4 February and inspired by the reality of reality TV, the festival investigates how we perform online as living content. The transmediale drama unfolds across two venues – Season 1 and 2 in silent green Kulturquartier and the reunion in Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW). Day passes and single event tickets are still available.

The three-day programme (admission with festival pass only) is framed by the festival's public opening on 31 January at silent green (free admission). The evening grants excess to the exhibitions on-site and presents performances and music. The closing evening on Saturday, 3 February, presents a concert by experimental bass player Farida Amadou together with Aquiles Navarro (single tickets), followed by a closing party at Weltwirtschaft with a DJ line-up.

The festival concludes with a concert by Farida Amadou, a self-taught bassist from Brussels. The improvisational musician approaches the electric bass in a unique and distinctive way: in her hands, an electric bass is less a conventional instrument and more of a completely interpretable source of sound. With the help of effect pedals, Farida creates sonic landscapes ranging from introverted to powerful.

Marking the Berlin debut of her new solo, Farida Amadou mixes electronic sounds with acoustic percussion and drone. Composing live, this new performance will evolve in direct response to audience reactions. Amadou will be joined by New York-based trumpeter, composer, and DJ Aquiles Navarro.
