Guely Morató Loredo is a curator, artist, and researcher. Her practice is situated at the intersection of sound studies, deep listening, and collective creation processes, understood as critical, political, and relational tools. Her work conceives listening as an ethical and multispecies practice capable of activating forms of empathy, care, and collective action in response to contemporary crises. She is the founder and director of Sonandes – Platform for Artistic Experimentation and Research, a project that since 2014 has driven the only biennial dedicated to sound art in Latin America, as well as residency programs, research projects, and exhibitions across various territories in Latin America and Europe. Her projects critically examine neo-extractivism, energy transitions, and technocolonial infrastructures, articulating situated reflections on the environmental and territorial violences produced in the name of technological development. Morató’s approach weaves together Andean epistemologies, practices of mutual care, and technodiversity, opening forms of engagement with technology that exceed Western and anthropocentric paradigms. Morató has collaborated with international institutions such as Delfina Foundation (UK), Goethe-Institut (Germany), Prince Claus Foundation (Netherlands) and Ars Electronica (Austria), receiving international awards and residencies.
