Post-digital Research, the third PhD workshop run by transmediale in cooperation with Aarhus University, took place from 7 to 9 October 2013. In conjunction with transmediale 2014 it aimed at exploring what, in the afterglow of digital art and culture, lies beyond the digital as a form of existence. The workshop’s research focus was not a future predetermined by the digital; nor did it try to do away with the digital. Instead, it examined how research could be practised in a culture where the digital has become a cultural residue that consumes resources, even producing new forms of trash and overloaded forms of existence.
