October 2026 – March 2027
The School of Algorithmic Solidarity, run by eeefff since 2022, develops a series of performative sessions that approach technologies as infrastructures and as environments that train bodies, shape behaviour, organise attention, and produce forms of sociality. Drawing from ergotherapy and sensory-room environments, the sessions invite visitors to test their motor skills, rehearse situations, and experiment with different modes of acting, sensing, and relating.
For the exhibition fragile currents, eeefff creates a series of performative sessions of the School of Algorithmic Solidarity and a durational installation in which the School continues to unfold.
As a collective and performative practice, the School of Algorithmic Solidarity becomes a space for rehearsing counter-practices: ways of acting, sensing, cooperating, and relating. It asks how different technological relations might be practised from within and what other forms of sociality, solidarity, and political agency they might produce.
For transmediale’s 40th anniversary exhibition, eeefff extends this practice through research into the festival’s archive. Navigating festival materials produced since 1987 – artworks, interviews, lectures, discussions, performances, and printed materials – they collect questions left behind along the way. Some remained suspended or unanswered; others were answered within their historical moment but appear differently when posed again today. These questions become archival leftovers: fragments detached from their original situations but still capable of addressing us and producing a pressure to respond. Rather than reconstructing the contexts from which these questions emerged, eeefff brings them into the School as material to act with. This follows its performative logic, in which conventional distributions of knowledge are unsettled. Questions become operational prompts: mechanisms and schematics for navigating contemporary technological conditions through bodies, movements, sensations, and collective situations.
Across the School, this navigation takes place at the margins of technological functionality. eeefff work with technologies that have been discarded, broken, problematic, repurposed, rendered obsolete, or removed from the systems they were designed to serve. These technological remains encounter bodies that are themselves never endlessly productive: bodies that become tired, vulnerable, exhausted, constrained, or excluded. By bringing problematic, discarded, or repurposed technologies into direct relation with bodies, the School creates situations in which seemingly technical questions unfold as political ones. What kinds of subjects do technologies produce? What forms of behaviour, dependency, control, or resistance do they make possible?

As part of transmediale 2023, a model, a map, a fiction , eeefff explored anti-war railway sabotage in Belarus through the scalar organisation of digital logistics, demonstrating how these cybernetic chains can be interrupted. In this demo, they describe the process of reafference – the sending of signals by sensors to direct and coordinate movements – as a site of potential logistical sabotage.
