Lena Brüggeman is an artist based in Leipzig, working within collaborative frameworks. 2012–2018, she served as Artistic Director, curating the program at D21 Kunstraum Leipzig. In 2019, she co-founded the Digitalsalon, a platform fostering networking and critical exchange among Leipzig artists with a focus on digital culture. In her practice with the art collective Elli Kuruş she investigates technologies, rendering them visible as historical actors through speculative narratives. These narratives shape her diverse mediums – including installation, performance, games – often inviting audiences to participate as active agents. Works from Elli Kuruş have been exhibited internationally at venues such as the Gwangju Museum of Modern Art, ISCP New York, European Media Art Festival, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, GMK Zagreb, Feminismen Festival Halle. Her pieces are held in the KdFS-collection of the Dresden State Art Collections. She has contributed to publications including Artists Re:Thinking the Blockchain and Arch+.
