“A School” is an autonomous, collective study platform that was initiated in Tehran in 2021 and has continued since then in different places and seasons across Iran, Armenia, and Kurdistan. It deliberately remained anonymous and untraceable, both as its condition of possibility and as an ethos and conceptual core in understanding relations and relating. The school understands itself as part of a long lineage of practices in self-organised and radical pedagogy, whose meaning and singularity are rooted more in their persistence than in claims to a unique model. Over time, the school abandoned its name as a homage to anonymous cultural workers and their modesty.
