Tycoon is an upcoming feature length film, presented in abridged form for preview at transmediale 2025.

Los Angeles on the cusp of the 2028 Summer Olympics: a series of devastating livestock viruses have wiped out meat and poultry production across the nation, leaving genetically-modified cockroaches the most viable alternative. Meanwhile, a cockroach infestation of biblical proportions overwhelms the city, triggering a rash of eminent domain abuses. Two grifters languish in its arid, chain-linked centre while they dream up their next big score – though the view from prosperity’s periphery reveals a landscape only made coherent by the intimacies between legitimized and illegitimate forms of celebration and theft, opportunism and evasion. Picaresque fantasies settle uneasily against a grid of exploitation and control granted new vigour by the Olympics and its backdoor bounty. Elsewhere, a mechanic gone-to-ground fails to escape his tail.

Contrapuntal in form, Tycoon brackets cloak-and-dagger narrative ambience with flicker sequences and invented aphorisms, in a montage of suspended time and the mythology of winning.
