Jung Hsu is a Taiwanese artist based in Berlin. She holds a Meisterschüler degree from Kunst und Medien, Universität der Künste Berlin. Her practice results in installation, interactive media, video, and performance, with research focused on biopolitics, multispecies relations, and living systems entangled with political infrastructure. Her ongoing series Canary Global History examines the canary as a sentinel species across histories of extraction and domestication. Her earlier work Bi0film.net: Resist Like Bacteria proposed microbial resistance as a model for decentralized collective action. Recent works include Collected Memory, a series of small acts examining human collecting behaviour and how fragmented data and memory can be interpreted outside dominant systems, and works presented at C-LAB Taipei. She has shown internationally in Berlin, Linz, Athens, and Québec. She is a recipient of the Prix Ars Electronica Golden Nica (2022), the Falling Walls Art and Science Award (2023), and the 2026 Kunstfonds stipend.
