partner programme runs either parallel to transmediale 2025 or as part of the festival's events
In 2025 CTM, transmediale's sister festival, unfolds a kaleidoscope of voices amidst our chaotic and shifting realities, mirroring and adding to the confusing polyphony of our current moment. This years' edition spans across venues such as silent green, radialsystem, Volksbühne, MONOM, Berghain, Oxi, RSO.Berlin, Morphine Raum, and more.
Festival Dates: 24 Jan – 2 Feb, 2025
Aditionally transmediale and CTM come together for another year, presenting two shared performance programmes at Haus der Kulturen der Welt. The two Synthesis evenings include performances by Portrait XO, Rick Farin & Actual Objects, ZULI, and Hulubalang feat Brandon Tay.
Synthesis Evenings: 31 Jan and 1 Feb
In conjunction with other co-programming, transmediale and CTM are forging connections with even more artists. Tati au Miel brings their artistry to both festivals, with a late-night DJ set at Alte Münze as part of CTM, complementing their extensive participation at transmediale – a performance, a DJset, a screening, and talks. Researcher and artist Maurice Jones will spans both festivals as well, leading the Wilding AI Lab, workshops, and discussions at CTM, alongside a transmediale workshop on the future of festivals. Co-curated with CTM, Andriy K, AXT, and State OFFF keep HKW pulsing with performances and DJ sets.
Unofficial Vorspiel
Vorspiel is taking a break in 2025 to reflect and refocus efforts to strengthen the community, but the independent community-led initiative Unofficial Vorspiel has arisen in its stead. Unofficial Vorspiel consists of programme across a number of Berlin's venues and spaces. Running from 14 Jan – 2 Feb, it features presentations, performances, talks, installations, and more.
Programme Dates: 14 Jan – 2 Feb, 2025
In silent green's Kuppelhalle initiatives are invited to a public feedback forum to share feedback on Vorspiel in its current form, and suggestions for improvement and change that would help keep the initiative meaningful.
BETWEENstitute Forum: 30 Jan, 2025 16:00 – 17:30
Embodied Agents in Contemporary
Visual Art
The Embodied Agents in Contemporary Visual Art symposium at CLB Berlin is dedicated to exploring and presenting works done in the field of robotic-assisted painting, drawing and calligraphy, more generally considering how robotics combined with progress in artificial intelligence could impact human creativity. The project is led by the University of Konstanz and Goldsmiths, University of London, with funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
Alongside the symposium CLB presents the exhibition Labor, an art project led by artists Liat Grayver and Daniel Berio, members of the EACVA project. Labor explores the role of bodily intelligence and its relationship to the intellectual mind. In a two-week live performance, the two artists will create a large-scale mural composed of numerous small paintings derived from electron microscope images of a placenta.
Symposium: 24 Jan – 30 Feb, 2025
Exhibition: 31 Jan – 2 March, 2025
Green Deal Studio
3022 x KonFluxus x Re:Frame.tv
Green Deal Studio serves as a stage, a social space, and a gateway to geographically dispersed nodes of the Stream Art Network. Utilising the power of green screens, the studio creates a space that extends physical boundaries, formulating a territory of hybrid togetherness. As both a performative and reflective space, Green Deal Studio questions the ways we connect, communicate, and co-create. Here, the visitors will be invited to screen their own art, voice their own perspectives, to engage with performances, interviews, discussions, or to simply relax in a green oasis.
This studio is an instance of a recently launched Stream Art Network.
Green Deal Studio at transmediale 2025: 31 Jan – 2 Feb, HKW
