Over the years, transmediale has built up an extensive network of partners and supporters, ranging from local and international organizations, spaces, renowned universities, cultural institutions and foundations to like-minded festivals who provide substantial support and intensive exchange contributing to the thematic and conceptual development of the festival.
Since its beginnings, CTM Festival has been an essential partner of transmediale. Through joint performances and the pre-festival program Vorspiel, the two festivals offer a unique and diverse experience to a shared audience.
Winchester School of Art
Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, has been a research partner since 2013, through its Centre for Global Futures in Art Design & Media and its ongoing AMT project. A joint publication, across and beyond, was published in 2016.
The annual PhD/research workshop is coordinated by Aarhus University, transmediale, and varying partners. It aims to provide a forum for emerging researchers to enter into dialog about their research topic.
Marshall McLuhan Projects
Since 2007, transmediale has been cooperating with the Embassy of Canada in Berlin to present the annual Marshall McLuhan Lecture, the McLuhan Salon exhibition, and a range of partner events.
Berlin resource Network
The Berlin resource network connects practitioners, spaces, and projects related to art and digital culture in Berlin. Individual actors communicate through an unmoderated mailing list (resource-net).
transmediale and CTM’s Vorspiel is a program of partner events in the field of digital art and culture as well as experimental sound and music that unfolds all over the city of Berlin.
The New Networked Normal
The New Networked Normal is a partnership by Abandon Normal Devices, CCCB, The Influencers, transmediale, and STRP, exploring art, technology, and citizenship in the age of the internet.
