Penny Travlou is a Lecturer in Cultural Geography and Theory at the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, University of Edinburgh uk. Her research focuses on the intersection of public space, digital culture, distributed networks, the commons and ethnography. Through her ethnographic work, she has been looking at how creative networked communities (i.e. Furtherfield, Art is Open Source, Make-shift cyberformances) form within transnational and transcultural contexts in a globalised and distributed communications environment.
