As the introductory "transmediale Marshall McLuhan" lecturer, Canadian architecture historian and critical theorist Alberto Perez-Gömez proposes a philosophical reflection on the connections between beauty and justice, ethics and poetics, in artistic practices that construct the collective spaces where we recognize ourselves with Others. This reflection is urgent in view of our complex political environment, and the prevailing obsession with digital tools whose uncritical use often ignores issues of cultural content grounded in meditative thinking.
