With an ironic and clever take on institutionalised art, the Italian duo with the binary name 0100101110101101.ORG, emerged around the turn of the century by appropriating or copying classical net art works. Soon they went on to perform various media hacks, such as renaming Karls Platz, one of Vienna’s main squares, in Nike Platz and open their personal computer for exploration by every interested web user. In recent years the duo has intervened in Second Life with a series of reenactments of historical performances and investigated online gaming culture as well as produced a series of works in the name of highly recognised artists, only to later claim the work in their name.
