These clips represent some of the user contributed material that was used to create Rip! A Remix Manifesto.  In some cases, collaborators remixed the film as we were shooting it.  In others, they contributed original material (videos, photos, music) that informed our direction.  We had remixes of George Bush's state of the union address, 70 university students creating a viral video for the remix musician Girltalk, a 16mm optically printed remix based on shooting a web version of Rip, a re-imagining of Times Square as a public space, and protests of the proposed amendments to Canada's copyright laws.

This project is part of the OPEN Signs exhibition at the Marshall McLuhan Salon of the Embassy of Canada, curated by Heather Kelley.
