Prinzessinnengarten

The Prinzessinnengarten in Berlin’s Kreuzberg neighborhood is a social and ecological urban garden. It started in the summer of 2009 at Moritzplatz in Berlin Kreuzberg, a site which had been a wasteland for over half a century. Along with friends, fans, activists and neighbours, the group cleared away rubbish, built transportable organic vegetable plots and a bar and a restaurant using shipping containers. Through a collective, self-organized, and self-financed effort, we have created an exceptionally green space in the city. A variety of cultivated plants thrive here, as well as a variety of social encounters, relationships, and cooperations.
