Jack Caravanos

Dr. Jack Caravanos is the head of Blacksmith Institute’s Technical Advisory Board and Professor of Environmental Health at the School of Public Health of the City University of New York where he directs the M.S. and M.P.H. programme in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. As a global environmental health expert, Dr. Caravanos began working with Blacksmith in 2005 when the nonprofit organisation conducted its first survey of the world’s worst polluted places. He has extensive experience in a variety of urban environmental and industrial health problems, including lead and e-waste pollution, and is often called upon to assist Blacksmith in environmental health assessments and cleanup projects in polluted hotspots around the world.
