raumtaktik — spatial recon and intervention — was founded in 2003 by Friedrich von Borries and Matthias Böttger. The two architects concern themselves with the production conditions of space, with the cultural, economic, and political parameters defined by the design of architecture and urban development. Their work focuses on issues such as globalization, migration, economic transformation, commercialization, eventization, as well as the activation of urban space.
Friedrich von Borries and Matthias Böttger are the commissaries general for the German contribution to the 11th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, 2008. Under the title Updating Germany— Projects for a Better Future, they presented new concepts for sustainable architecture and design. Updating Germany will be shown from December 6, 2008–February 22, 2009, at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt/Main.
Architect Wiesje Bijl and media scientist Christian Hiller are the project managers for raumtaktik’s contribution to transmediale.09 - DEEP NORTH.
