Nicholas Mirzoeff

Nicholas Mirzoeff is a professor of Media, Culture and Communication at New York University.
From 2013-15, he is visiting professor of Visual Culture at Middlesex University, London. His book The Right to Look: A Counterhistory of Visuality (Duke University Press, 2011) won the Anne Friedberg Innovative Scholarship Award from the Society of Cinema and Media Studies in 2013. His book How To See The World (Pelican, 2015) is forthcoming from Basic Books, New York, in April 2016 and in Chinese, Spanish, and Polish translations.
A frequent blogger, he writes widely on politics and visual culture, including recent pieces in The Guardian, Time, and Fortune.
