Matthew Creasey is a behavioural ecologist, freelance writer, and science communicator. His current research focuses on differences in personality type and cognitive style within and between groups of cooperative birds, while his writings have explored topics ranging from hummingbird migration to caterpillar poo. In a recent poem, he searched for the voice of an island sinking in the tide of rising seas. He is a junior editor at the magazine Current Conservation and Chair of the British Science Association (Cornwall Branch).
