Wir bedanken uns bei allen Künstlern, Forschern, Designern und (H)acktivisten für die zahlreichen Einsendung eurer Arbeiten und Projekte zu unseren Ausschreibungen für die transmediale 2012 in/compatible: der Ausschreibung für Kunstwerke, der Vilém Flusser Artist-in-Residence und der Ausschreibung für PhD Studenten zum in/compatible research workshop. Insgesamt haben wir 1341 Einreichungen erhalten, die wir derzeit mit großer Neugier durchsehen. Bis Ende Oktober werden alle Teilnehmer für die 25. Ausgabe der transmediale vom 31. Januar bis 4. Februar 2012 benachrichtigt und bekannt gegeben.

// transmediale bei ISEA in Istanbul
Das transmediale Team war in Istanbul anlässlich der diesjährigen ISEA. Dort hat am 16. September unsere Kuratorin des neuen Formats "resource for transmedial culture", Tatiana Bazzichelli, gemeinsam mit Teilnehmern unserer resource Partnerinstitution DARC - Digital Aesthetic Research Center der Aarhus Universität ein Panel zum Thema 'Don't hate the business, become the business' moderiert. Das Panel diskutierte wie Künstler, anstatt den Markt zu verweigern, ihm mit kritischen Interventionen, die sie innerhalb seiner Strukturen entwickeln, begegnen.

// transmediale Kollaboration mit Coded Cultures
Während des Coded Cultures Festivals im September 2011 werden erstmals Kooperationsprojekte mit der transmediale gezeigt, die im Rahmen des Deutschland-Indien Jahres, einer Initiative des Goethe Institutes, organisiert werden. Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil ist eine "Artist-Residence", die von der transmediale kuratiert wurde und zu der wir den indischen Künstler Prayas Abhinav eingeladen haben. Sein Projekt "mas/king" bietet die Möglichkeit, Eigenschaften von versteckten narrativen Strukturen in anderen künstlerischen Praktiken zu verstehen und wird im Rahmen des transmediale Kollaborationsprojekt "outResourcing" entwickelt. Beide Projekte werden am MuseumsQuartier Focus Day am 23. September vorgestellen. Darüber hinaus hat die transmediale am 21. September zur Pecha Kucha Nacht eine Präsentation gegeben und am 23. transmediale Ausstellungskurator Jakob Lillemose präsentiert auf dem diesjährigen Re:wire Festival in Liverpool. Am 28. September spricht er darüber, wie Jimi Hendrix, indem er seine Gitarre in Flammen setzt, die kybernetische Logik subversiert. 'Voodoo Child! Setting the Guitar on Fire and Distorting the Sound of the Cybernetic Logic'. Unser künstlerischer Leiter Kristoffer Gansing wird ebenfalls das Re:wire Festival besuchen. We would like to thank all artists, developers, researchers and (h)activists who submitted to our calls: the call for art works, the Vilém Flusser residency and the call for participation to the in/compatible research workshop. We are pleased to announce 1341 entries, which we are excited to go through at the moment. Acceptances for the 25th edition of transmediale taking place between January 31st and February 4th 2012 will be sent out and announced by October 2011.

// transmediale at ISEA in Istanbul
The transmediale team travelled to Istanbul for this year's ISEA, where our transmediale curator of the new resource programme Tatiana Bazzichelli moderated a panel, 'Don't hate the business, become the business', together with participants from our resource partner institution, the DARC - Digital Aesthetics Research Centre at Aarhus University. // transmediale collaboration with Coded Cultures
During the Coded Cultures festival in September 2011 in Vienna, we will show collaboration projects between transmediale and Coded Cultures that have been developed within the framework of the "Germany and India 2011-2012 – Infinite Opportunities" initiative of the Goethe Institute. As a substantial part of this, transmediale was asked to curate a residency for which we invited the Indian artist Prayas Abhinav. His project "mas/king" offers a way to understand the nature of the hidden narratives of other art practitioners. This project is being developed in the context of the broader project outResourcing and we will be talking about both in a presentation at Coded Cultures in their MuseumsQuartier Focus Day on September 23. Moreover, transmediale is participating in the Pecha Kucha Night on the Coded Cultures opening, September 21st, and we are part of the European Festival Platform organised as a workshop by Coded Cultures on September 23rd.
