transmediale 2019

Artist Rory Pilgrim is looking for people to be part of creating and performing a choreography for a pop concert performance called Software Garden, taking place at transmediale 2019. The open call addresses people of different ages with both dance and non-dance backgrounds, who are interested in exploring the connections between the body, technology, and care. Over a period of two days, the participants will be working with Danish choreographer Casper-Malte Augusta to create group scores that explore questions of touch, contact, collectivization—and how we come together and support one another from behind and beyond our screens. The choreography developed in the workshop will become a key element of the performance Software Garden, which will be presented within the framework of transmediale 2019.

Performance Date: 1 February 2019
— transmediale 2019, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin
Exhibition Hall 1, 20:00–21:00
Workshop Dates: 28 + 29 January 2019, 11:00–17:00 – tbc

If you would like to participate in the performance, please write an email with the subject line “Software Garden”, including a short introduction to yourself, your age, and whether it is possible to bring your own smartphone and use it during the performance, to call@transmediale.de. No professional background in dance needed—this workshop is for those who enjoy exploring ideas through movement. Performers will receive a free festival pass for their participation.
