Vilém Flusser residency

The Vilém Flusser Residency Programme for Artistic Research is part of transmediale’s reSource all year activities. The residency programme aims at creating a sustainable structure for feedback, research, and reflection, whose results will also influence the development of the yearly festival themes. With the residency programme, we are calling upon artistic research projects that actively explore the capabilities and limitations of transdisciplinary and transmedial situations in contemporary culture. We therefore understand artistic research as an exploration of the links between aesthetics, materiality, and politics. Read more

Market for Immatieral Value is an investigation on creating and disseminating art in the era of immaterial economy. Valentina and Pieter are looking over a capitalist horizon and share their findings and ideas. 

Valentina Karga's and Pieterjan Grandry’s project Market for Immaterial Value typifies their interests in sustainability, economics, the commons and resource management by presenting their personal financial situation within a public context.

Bringing technology into discourse with natural history, Martin Howse and Rosemary Lee will lead a guided walk through the Museum fur Naturkunde Berlin. 2014 Vilém Flusser Residency for Artistic Research Artist in Residence Rosemary Lee will lead a reading and discussion related to her research. transmediale collaborates with the International Triennial of New Media Art in Beijing, China: Our artistic director Kristoffer Gansing was part of their advisory board and former artist in residence in our Vilém Flusser Program for Artistic Research, Pinar Yoldas, exhibits work An Ecosystem of Excess this summer in Beijing (starting 10 June).
