(Un)easy Discussions - Art Education

The transmediale 2012 exhibition Dark Drives. Uneasy Energies in Technological Times was curated by Jacob Lillemose (dk). The concept of the exhibition, connecting the numerous artworks through a kind of ambivalent energy, asks for a type of art education that opens up a virtual interstice, an in-between space, for the viewer. | Wed 1 Feb - Sat 4 Feb 2012 14:00, 17:00, 19:00 / Sun 5 Feb 2012 14:00, 17:00 / Info and registration: sb@transmediale.de or directly at the Info-Counter at the festival venue, 3 EUR per Person

Whenever several people discuss about art, situations with both productive and destructive aspects arise. For a critical and conscious education programme one has to look for fissures and cracks, for the multiplicity of voices and differences should not be ignored. Through the encounter with the artworks we seek to open up a space for discussing their possible readings and various effects. In dialogue with the visitors we would like to trace the possible uneasiness and insecurity triggered by the artworks.

(Un)easy Discussions is a project by Barbara Campaner and Sabine Kulik.
