Orit Halpern

Orit Halpern is a Historian of Science who works on temporality, memory and the archive in digital media. She is working on a genealogy of interactivity, exploring the relations between subjectivity, time, and representation in cybernetics, design, and the human and social sciences during the Cold War. She also interrogates the relationship between art and militarism, media and life, in post-war scientific and aesthetic practices. Her book The Eye of Time is forthcoming from Duke Press, and her work has appeared in such venues as Journal of Visual Culture, Post-modern Culture, C-Theory, and Configurations.
