While exploring the as yet untold histories of McLuhan in Europe, the events will also look at the development of contemporary media, tactile and mobile cultures, the politics of media culture in the context of the divided Europe and other themes that emerged out of McLuhan’s primary period of intellectual production. transmediale.11 launches the European centennial with the publication of a unique limited edition of McLuhan’s COUNTERBLAST manifesto from 1954, as well as number of special events during the festival and into 2011!
